The atmosphere created was elegant. King room accommodated us perfectly. The bed was lovely and there were an electric kettle, central heating and a multi-channel television.

The breakfast offered was great with yogurt, fried bread, couldn't have asked for more. I booked a twin room for 1 night and had an awesome stay. Stunning location of the hotel right in the centre of Rye.
It had not so great views.

Fairly clean, WONDERFUL OLD hotel built in an ancient style. The very helpful staff with great attitude to guests. Simply no reason to complain, very good stay.

This place was wonderful in general with a really good and incredible staff team. I was here for 1 night and ate at Michelin star rated restaurant for dinner. It had an exceptionally comfortable bed and included a modern bathroom a hairdryer, guest toiletries and bath sheets. Overall the service was exceptional. Got wake up service free of charge, not bad too. The ambiance was elegant and I appreciated every second of the terrific time here.

What a character!
This place is super charming with its creaky floors and cozy vibe. The staff is really friendly and took good care of us. The walls are so thin. We couldn't escape the snoring from next door. Breakfast was decent until the greasy fried stuff came out. Definitely check out the bar area for a nice drink.

A uniquely historic hotel on the most picturesque street in Rye. We were grateful for the chance to stay in such a rare and beautiful building. The staff were very friendly and helpful (and great with our three year old even though there weren't many children in evidence), happily being disturbed from their work to tell us about the history of the hotel, show us the Priest Hole in the fireplace and talk about local beaches and places of interest.

Seeped in history, very romantic setting. Johnny Depp slept in my bed! (apparently!) Central to the town of Rye.. easy to access without use of car. Friendly staff who quickly dealt with any requests. Excellent breakfast.
The hotel was very expensive. The bathroom in our room had a hand held shower, over a high bath which made it difficult to wash, and there was no shower curtain or screen so the bathroom got wet. The washbasin was in the room, not in the bathroom and the hairdryer was very ineffective. There was a smoking area right under our window which meant that we needed to keep it closed when we would have preferred it open. We had to order and collect our own drinks from the bar when sitting on the patio outside.. waiter service would have been more in keeping with the prices we were paying.
